Atalanta Sign Barreto

Following the relegation of Reggina, Edgar Barreto has decided to move on with his career and has sought out greener pastures in the top flight.

Atalanta have now signed the 24-year-old, and are believed to have paid around £5 million in order to secure the services of the player. The announcement was made recently, after the Paraguayan international signed on the dotted line.

Barreto was instrumental in keeping the Amaranto alive during the 2007-08 season. He made a total of 68 appearances for the club, scoring five times in the process.

Deco And Carvalho Overpriced

The technical director of Inter, Marco Branca, spoke during the presentation conference of Diego Milito and Thiago Motta, and said that Chelsea duo Deco and Ricardo Carvalho are overpriced and stated that the club considers the evaluation to be excessive.

Branca concluded the talk concerning the two Premier League players by saying that if Chelsea are unwilling to change their ideas about Carvalho and Deco, then the Beneamata would focus on other players instead. The transfer guru finally said that after spending big on the market, the Nerazzurri would now concentrate on focused buys.

The English side will now have to decide if the San Siro door is half open, or half closed.
