Juventus – Maccabi Haifa Live

ciro ferraraJuventus have not had a great run of games in recent times, since they have been drawing a fair number of matches. They are yet to win their first game in the Champions League, and this could be their best opportunity to register a much needed three-point outing on the European stage.

The Bianconeri boss Ciro Ferrara has been wary of Maccabi Haifa despite their poor form in the competition, as the visitors come into this game having lost 3-0 to Bayern Munich, and 1-0 to Girondins de Bordeaux recently.

While the Turin-based outfit appear to be the favourites going into this game, it will be a crime to underestimate any team in the biggest club competition in Europe.

Inter 2-2 Dynamo Kyiv Highlights

cordoba-stankovic-samuel-inter-napoli-highlightsInter came from behind twice to earn a draw against Ukrainian outfit Dynamo Kyiv at the San Siro.

Dynamo had an early opportunity, but could not make the most of it. But it only took them a couple of minutes to gather their might, as Taras Mikhailik scored from a set play.

Dejan Stankovic found the leveller about 10 minutes before half-time, when Lucio sent in a good pass for the midfielder to coolly knock it past the advancing goalkeeper.

However, Lucio ‘made amends’ for his brilliant pass earlier, when he turned one into his own net. But the Biscion scored early on in the second-half to level the terms. Walter Samuel got onto the end of a corner and headed it past the ‘keeper, much to the joy of the home crowd.

As the referee blew the whistle to signal the end of play, the points were shared as neither side could get the better of their opponents. This result comes as a good one for the hosts, as Barcelona lost 2-1 to Rubin Kazan in their corresponding fixture.

Debrecen 3-4 Fiorentina Highlights

adrian-mutu-bologna-fiorentinaFiorentina emerged victorious in a seven-goal thriller against Hungarian opponents Debrecen.

It took only two minutes for the hosts to find the back of the net, as Peter Czvitkovics knocked home the go-ahead goal after a cross from the right found him unmarked. But the Gigliati struck thrice in 17 minutes to get a good two-goal cushion. Adrian Mutu sent one into the bottom corner, before Alberto Gilardino marked his return from suspension with a simple strike from seven yards out. The Romania international bagged a brace in the 19th minute when a defence splitting pass from ‘Gila’ allowed the striker to get onto the score-sheet once again.

Less than 10 minutes later, Gergely Rudolf pulled one back for the home side after beating two defenders send a curling shot into the back of the net.

If the action was not enough, Mario Alberto Santana scored the fourth goal for the visitors, when a shot by Mutu was blocked by the goalkeeper. The return fell to Santana, who had no trouble finishing.

The remainder of the game was hard fought, as the game slowed down in comparison to the frantic first period. But with only two minutes to go in normal time, Adamo Coulibaly went past Alessandro Gamberini to head one in from a set piece.

The final few minutes saw the hosts attacking with everything they had, but Cesare Prandelli’s charges held their own to snatch the three points on the day.
