Premier League predictions and odds

As well all know, the Premier League begins on Saturday, with Arsenal and West Brom getting us under way. Here I have complied my list of predictions for the forthcoming season along with odds from Sky Bet.

Premier League Outright Betting:

  1. Chelsea - 7/4.
  2. Man United - 11/8.
  3. Tottenham - 50/1.
  4. Liverpool - 13/2.
  5. Arsenal - 6/1.
  6. Aston Villa - 150/1.
  7. Everton - 200/1.
  8. Portsmouth - 400/1.
  9. Man City - 150/1.
  10. Newcastle - 400/1.
  11. West Ham - 1000/1.
  12. Middlesbrough - 1500/1.
  13. Sunderland - 2000/1.
  14. Blackburn - 1000/1.
  15. Fulham - 2500/1.
  16. Wigan - 2500/1.
  17. West Brom - 5000/1.
  18. Bolton - 3000/1.
  19. Hull City - 7500/1.
  20. Stoke City - 7500/1.

I personally fancy Peter Crouch for Top Goalscorer at 28/1, whilst Bolton to go down at 5/2 is also one I will have a few bob on. To bet on several different Premier League markets including Top Goalscorer and Relegation odds, just click the Sky Bet link below the post.

Barry to Liverpool: Off. Corluka to Spurs: Off

The transfers of Gareth Barry to Liverpool and Vedran Corluka to Tottenham both look dead in the water tonight, as both players have started their sides UEFA Cup matches. That means that both players would be cup-tied if they were to move, which makes both deals highly unlikely now.

Barry has started (and indeed has scored) for Aston Villa in their UEFA Cup qualifying tie against FH Hafnarfjordur. Barry has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool over the past few weeks and months, with an £18 million deal being touted.

Meanwhile, Corluka has started Manchester City’s tie against FC Midtylland. It had been widely speculated that Corluka would complete an £8 million move to the North London side by the end of the week, but it looks as though now Juande Ramos will miss out on the Croatian.

Will Corluka or Barry make it into your starting eleven? Then sign-up for the Daily Mirror’s, You the Manager (through the link at the top) and sign Corluka for £4 million and Barry for £6 million.

The Big Debate: Who has been the best summer signing?

I have had many conversations with friends in recent days about who has been the best summer signing by a Premier League team. The obvious ones are Robbie Keane to Liverpool, David Bentley to Tottenham, but what we want to know is, who do you think is has been the summers best signing?

Take into account, was the player value for money, will he improve the side he has moved to and most importantly did the side really need the player? Leave your comments and enjoy a good argument!
