Can we have a referee?

Can we have a referee?
Who’d want to be a ref anyway? All that stomping around, shouting and getting angry – and that’s from the players and supporters.

So what happens when an amateur star-studded football team tries to play 11-a-side without a ref?

About the same as what happens to any football game played without a ref – chaos and farce.

The FA Respect video kicks off their campaign to stamp out dissent in football; highlighting the important job the referees do; encourage more people into the game but also bringing to light the level of abuse that takes place on and off the pitch.

Featuring England Manager Fabio Capello, top referee Howard Webb and ex-pros and footballing celebrities, including Mark Bright and Les Ferdinand.

Ronaldo: I’m Joining Madrid Next Week

cristiano-ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has sensationally told Spanish newspaper ‘AS’ that he will be joining Real Madrid, and will next week travel to Manchester to notify Sir Alex Ferguson that he is leaving the English and European Champions.

Real Madrid have been on red alert ever since the Portuguese international spoke of his ambition to join them. Madrid President Ramon Calderon has even boasted of how he would splash out €100m on the United man, only for the English club to refute all offers and shackle the player.

It now seems as if the English club has no choice but to sell, as Ronaldo has issued an ultimatum as he attempts to cut and run from Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.

Ronaldo is currently in Portugal where he is recovering from injury but he admits that he will return to England next week to confront his club and tell them that he is joining Real.

“Everything is fine. Next week I will return to England and tell them [Manchester United] that my only desire is to play for Real Madrid and that I will not negotiate,” Ronaldo told AS.

According to reports in Spain, the winger will hold a meeting next Tuesday with Ferguson and the club’s owners to tell them that he has had enough.

It’s not what United fans want to hear but it seems as if the Ronaldo saga is finally coming to an end and no doubt Calderon will be dancing to the tune of Ronaldo’s words.

QPR Swoop For Parejo

Wealthy and ambitious English Championship side Queens Park Rangers have achieved something of a coup by securing Real Madrid starlet Dani Parejo on a two-year loan deal.

One of Spain’s most highly-rated young prospects, Real Madrid’s Dani Parejo, has moved from the Bernabeu to Loftus Road on loan to join the Queens Park Rangers revolution.

The West London side, potentially the wealthiest in England, agreed a two-year loan deal with Madrid for Parejo, 19, who was also wanted by Arsenal - but on a permanent basis, and Real were not interested in selling the Spanish youth international.

Spanish clubs Deportivo La Coruna, Espanyol and Osasuna also made offers to take Parejo on loan, but QPR clinched a deal after discussions between Real president Ramon Calderon (pictured0 and Rangers supremo Flavio Briattore.

Although Real are allowing Parejo to move to Loftus Road for two years, they reserve the option to recall him next summer.

“This is a big chance and I hope I can profit from this opportunity,” said Parejo, who is currently Real’s pre-season training camp in Austria but will travel to London this weekend with Madrid for the Emirates Cup before joining up with QPR.
