Dutch giants PSV were interested in signing Sochaux starlet Mevlut Erding, but Sochaux have made it clear the Turkish international is going nowhere.
It seems as though Jeremie Brechet and Mevlut Erding won’t be reunited. Brechet made the move from Sochaux to PSV earlier this transfer window, but Erding isn’t following him and Sochaux are not willing to let him go.
‘He’s a very interesting player for us’, confirms technical director Adrie van Kraaij in AD Sportwereld today. ‘We’d love to add him to our squad. However, Sochaux won’t allow him to leave’.
The 21-year-old Turkish international was last year’s topscorer at the Montbéliard outfit with eleven goals in 29 league appearances. The lightweight player also participated for Turkey on Euro 2008.
PSV are forced to look somewhere else because of the reluctance of Sochaux to let one of their star players go. Reportedly PSV already made an offer on someone else, but refuse to disclose further information about the identity of their mystery man.
The Eindhoven side are looking for a replacement for Peruvian hit-man Jefferson Farfan, who has signed for Schalke’04. The Eindhoven side have only two strikers left in Danny Koevermans and Danko Lazovic.

According to Spanish newspaper As, PSV Eindhoven want to re-sign crocked Brazilian star Ronaldo.
Ronaldo’s future is uncertain as he is currently a free agent. Indeed for a while his whole career was believed to be in jeopardy after he severed a tendon in his knee playing for Milan against Livorno in February.
After a successful operation in Paris, it was revealed that he would be out of action for at least nine months, although a more likely return date was said to be in 2009.
Although Ronaldo’s rehabilitation is said to be going well, and well ahead of schedule, Milan have refused to offer him a new deal to the contract that ran out at the end of June.
This means that El Fenomeno is now unattached, although there are still some sections of the press who believe that Milan are prepared to hand him a new deal once he proves his fitness.
Nevertheless, As claims that PSV have contacted Ronaldo to try and convince him to return to Eindhoven.
The 31-year-old played for the Dutch giants from 1994 to 1996, and was a massive hit, scoring 42 goals in just 45 games, before moving to Barcelona.
The transfer will be complicated though, as there are also reports that Ronaldo has an agreement with Brazilian club Flamengo.

Tottenham have agreed a deal with PSV Eindhoven to sign goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, subject to personal terms, a medical and a work permit.
Gomes, 27, has played for Brazil and helped PSV to the Dutch title last season conceding only 24 league goals.
His arrival will alarm Paul Robinson who was dropped from the Spurs side last season by boss Juande Ramos.
Gomes made his name at Cruzeiro in Brazil before moving to PSV in 2004 where he has won four Dutch titles.
He will be a familiar face to Tottenham fans as he played a part in Spurs exiting the Uefa Cup last season, when he saved a Jermain Jenas penalty in a shootout PSV won 6-5 in the last 16 of the competition.
Robinson had a torrid time last season not only losing his place in the Spurs team but also being dropped from England by new manager Fabio Capello.
The 27-year-old did play in Tottenham’s Carling Cup win over Chelsea but was dogged by the embarrassing goal conceded at the start of England’s Euro 2008 qualification campaign in 2006, when a Gary Neville back-pass hit a divot and rolled into the net giving Croatia a 2-0 win.
Robinson, who has also played for Leeds, has been linked with Aston Villa during the summer.
Gomes is Ramos’s second big signing in June after he captured Mexico international Giovani Dos Santos from Barcelona for an initial £4.7m.
Croatian midfielder Luka Modric also joined the club in April for £16.5m.
